Plastic surgery costs comprise of many charges which are priced based on many factors. The main determinants to the cost is the part of the body to be treated, the type of procedure, the technique used and the geographical location of the clinic. Parts of the body that are larger will demand higher costs to be treated for obvious reasons. The exact treatment and technique that will be used could affect the tools required and could be more or less difficult than the alternative. Larger body areas will cost more than smaller areas. This is simply for the fact that small areas are quicker and require less work.

Different plastic surgery procedures will vary widely from each other in terms of cost for many reasons. Some procedures will cost less simply because they are non-surgical or less complicated and risky.
Major surgeries that require sedation of the patient will cost more than procedures where local anesthesia is administered. The difference in anesthetic dosages make up a big part of the final cost of surgery. Sometimes the dosage is small enough that it can be safetly administered by someone other than a certified anesthesiologist. Otherwise there will be an additional charge for the anesthesiologist’s time and presence.
The surgeon fee is the price most often quoted and advertised since it is consistently an item across every type of plastic surgery procedure. There are many more types of costs that have to be added in for each procedure. There will be a facility fee which is usually the cost of the surgery room and it can range from 5 hundred to two thousand dollars. The cost of administering the numbing solution averages about $1000. The facility fee will also include any type of equipment or tools used during the procedure.
