Winter is the roughest time for our skin. A huge number of people are plagued with itchy, dry, rough and painful skin. Making sure that you take in 8 to 10 glasses of water a day will improve the chances in the battle over dry and cracked skin. Try it for the next two weeks and you will undoubtedly see a definite difference in your skin in just a few days.
Speaking of the importance of moisture, a good moisturizing lotion is also a good idea. Try to get one that fits for your skin type so that you aren’t going to end up with oily skin. I recommend a cream instead of a lotion in cold weather, because a cream is thicker and more protective of the skin. You should also spend a moment or so and read the label. The cream or lotion that you use in the summer probably won’t be appropriate in the winter. Stay away from a cream or lotion with alcohol in the first few ingredients, as alcohol is a drying agent, just what you dont’ want.
Dress the right way in the cold. Don’t just write this one off, consider it carefully. The more bare skin that you have increases the opportunity that the cold air has to remove the moisture. Layer your clothes and let that first layer be clothes that are made out of cotton. Cotton will let you skin breathe, will keep you warm and won’t irritate your skin.
Try out these three easy steps, you will not only notice a big improvement in that really dry skin, an not only that you will also prevent your skin from becoming dry. Plenty of water, the right moisturizing cream for your skin type and the right clothing and you will have healthy, well hydrated, comfortable skin covering you.
