How is Colloidal Silver Made?
Creating Colloidal Silver is not a complex activity. Nearly all of the equipment is electronic and the colloidal silver is formed through the process known as electrolysis. The colloidal dispersion of silver and water is described as an electro – colloidal hydrosol. Very pure silver rods, acting as electrodes, are immersed into demineralized or distilled water and a low voltage DC current is applied to the silver rods. During the breakdown of the positive silver electrode or the sintering off phase, a single silver atom can drop an outer electron and it must quickly find a substitute electron from another element. This is known as the ionic silver stage. Ionic silver is an unstable substance, it urgently seeks “free” electrons to rejoin itself to in order to return to a complete silver atom once more. The ionic silver will however, happily bind to any appropriate “free” electron from another element, thus creating a silver based chemical. When it cant locate an electron it will stay as the far more toxic monovalent ionic (Ag+) silver ion which can develop into a major contaminant in some preparations.
