Hemroids: Whats Really Wrong With You.

When you go to the toilet and realize that there is blood in your stools you will get one hell of a shock. For some reason you’ll probably think you’re experiencing internal bleeding but that might not necessarily be the case. What you’ll probably be having a Hemroid or two. Read on to discover what exactly hemroids are and how you can prevent or treat them.

For the most part hemroids are when you have inflammations in the rectum. So the source of discomfort is the direct result of the swellings. But the feeling of discomfort is just a tip of the ice-berg if you want to know other indications of illness.

When pressure starts to build up in the rectum the obvious consequence is a burning sensation in the rectum. This burning sensation can be very intense or mild. Whichever the case may be this burning sensation will be so uncomfortable that you might actually try sitting in cold water just to ease it away.

Sometimes the illness swellings are preceded by a terrible itch. This itch will be a great source of irritation and you will feel like barraging your anus with a scratch or two. Nevertheless if you scratch after feeling irritated your hemroids can be marked by bloody stools. Bloody stools come when you pop open the swellings in the rectum.

There are a few causes that have been linked to hemroids. But the most cited cause is constipation. Constipation is when stools are trapped in the rectum because they are to dry and hard to be passed out. Normally the discomfort stems from the feeling of entrapment. But in very rare instances a pregnant mother can have these as well because of the extra weight carried in her womb. In most of the cases involving pregnant women the hemroids are triggered by the fact that they might have weak rectum walls.

To fully understand how this illness occur you must understand that pressure is a major trigger factor. When you’re constipated you pass out faeces after a long time. So in due course the pressure accumulates and in the end pressure is applied against the veins in the rectum. And like i mentioned earlier pressure and heat are the two conditions that bring about the burning sensation in the rectum.

Hemroids can be prevented. The key is sticking to a high fibre diet. A high fibre diet will moisten your faeces and make it easier and faster for you to pass them out. Inevitably there won’t be pressure and swelling. Eat peanut butter and a lot of vegetables like lettuce and integrate whole grain into your diet.

But if you already have them your thoughts should be directed towards treatment. I have heard of Epsom salts in lukewarm water working wonders. Put a little water in a tub, add Epsom salts and then sit in the tub for a good 5 minutes. This will reduce any swellings or irritation. You can also make use of laxative pills, the pills that trigger the passing out of stools. But if this is too much for you i recommend drinking water that will soften faeces and make them easier to pass out.
