How bad do you want to get rid of your acne? No, really? Are you willing to make changes in your lifestyle that might be a little hard at first, but will be beneficial to your skin, and to your health overall?
There are many factors to this lifestyle change thing. So are you ready to hear about some that will play an important part in your fight against acne? I think you are. I know you can do this!
Here is one that we all face at some level. This is true more so for some, than others. How high is yours? I’m talking about your stress level. If it’s high a lot of the time, that can cause your sebaceous glands to over act. This will create more oil on parts of your face while others remain dry from dehydration. So let’s get the stress under control. Don’t sweat the small stuff, do relaxation breathing techniques, laugh more (those laugh lines are a good thing).

Are you drinking at least 8-10 8oz glasses of water everyday? If not, you should be. I’m sure you realize the positive impact drinking water can have on your body, how about for the skin? This is very powerful for your fast acne treatment strategy. I won’t get into all the technical reasons, but here’s the deal on the benefits of water: gets rid of excess oil, toxins and waste. Moistens the skin, stops clogging of pores, reduces stress levels by relaxing your body, you’ll sleep better, it stops you from drinking so much of the bad stuff that actually depletes your body of water.
Avoid using products that will shrink your pores, such as, witch hazel, oatmeal, cold water, and rubbing alcohol. When your pores shrink, this can cause clogging and lead to more breakouts.
Avoid stimulating things to the body and brain such as sugar, tea, coffee and soda. Taking these things makes the sebaceous glands produce more oil. How do you think that oil gets out? Yup, your pores. By now we realize that will only make your acne worse.
Make a lifestyle change in your diet. Eating healthy is just good for you overall. Realize that your diet does in fact affect your skin. A low-fat diet will help to reduce the intake of extra oil, which will help you to have fewer breakouts.
If we are feeling stressed, what do you think is the common choice for a lot of people to help reduce their stress? Hmm…alcohol? You guessed right! Well, it will do that, however studies show that alcohol can cause acne to begin forming. It is responsible for shrinking pores, which then leads to clogging.
The temperature of your water can play a very important part to you fast acne treatment strategy. Use tepid water instead of extremely hot or cold water.
Use gentle non-irritating products. Treat your skin with gentleness and kindness. Don’t use harsh or abrasive skincare products, nor should you scrub your face.
For the sun worshipers out there, take care. Although the sun can be good in killing bacteria, it can also be drying and clog pores. Only stay in the sun for a short while, and take care to use a SPF of at least 15.
Keep your skin moist in extremely cold weather. As much as hot weather can be drying to your skin, so can cold weather. Protect your skin always!
Changing your bed linens often including your pillowcase will help to avoid putting back the extra oils and dead skin cells right back into your skin.
I truly believe you can make this subtle changes in your lifestyle. A big difference will be noticeable, and will motivate you to continue making even more. A healthy lifestyle is just better overall, and you will soon see that you have more energy, a healthier looking body and clearer skin to show the world!
